Halloween Cuties - Wolf

 Hello!  Larisa here sharing a fun little werewolf card with you guys using the NEW Halloween Cuties set!  This set is just way too much fun to work with!  So many sweet images to choose from!  I decided to work with the little werewolf and create a black and orange Halloween card. 

For my card, I chose some fun Halloween paper and colored my image to match.  Then I cut him out using the CC Designs Cutter Halloween Cuties Outline Dies.  Then I created a fun little tag with the CC Designs Cutter Layering Tags Die and popped the little wolf on top using some foam tape.  A few other embellishments top the card off.

Sweet On You

Kim O'Connell checkin' in to bring you a quick tutorial on creating backgrounds with distress inks!

I started with a 4" square piece of white card stock. I secured it to my craft mat with a bit of adhesive.  I the cut the black piece of card stock to me my template for my rolling hill of grass and sky.  You need both of the pieces of card stock.

I layered the bottom black piece of card stock over my white card stock and secure it with some tape.  I sponged on my sky with Tim Holtz salty ocean and tumbled glass distress inks.  

Now I used the other piece of black card stock and covered my sky.  I secured it with tape and sponged on my grassy hill with Tim Holtz mowed lawn and  crushed olive distress inks.

And now that you have your background, you can add your image.

I colored up the cute new Pollycraft Millie and fussy cut her out.  I used a die from the Make a Card #4 die set for the sentiment flag and stamped a sentiment from the Chilled Out sentiment stamp set.

Hi all, it's Andrea here today with a How to & What not :)

In this post you will see I have done a How to for a CAS card, I don't know about you but I didn't know what a CAS card was for a long time even when people were saying I had made a lovely CAS card lol then one day feeling a bit stupid I asked what CAS meant and was told it stands for 'Clean and Simple' and then it made perfect sense, at that is my style even though I dabble in different genres I tend to keep coming back to 'Clean & Simple cards. This is the card I have made using 'Dude' from this months release, he is such a cool dude.  

 

 

 

I didn't realize I was making a tutorial this month and had already made this card so instead of doing another card I decided to de-construct this one, not such a good idea as you will see as we progress, but in the end it turned out ok. I have a few photo's to show you how I did it. This is what I used. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And this is how I put it together :)

 

Adhere the fish patterned paper on to white card stock

 

Adhere the Star strip along the bottom of the fish paper

 

 

Whoops, I skipped a step here and forgot to take a photo sorry but as you can see I mounted the sentiment with mounting tape and did the same for the featured image.

 

I then mounted the hand cut flags.

 

 

Copic's used were - 

 

Skin - E50, 51, 21, 11, 93

Hair - Y21, 23, 26

Sunglasses - R24, 27, N5, 7

Shorts - BG11, 13, 18, C1, 3, 5

Surfboard - YR15, 07, B02, 05, 06, Y04, 08.

 

I used a sentiment from AmyR's new sentiment stamp 'Pool Party'

 

Papers used were Doodlebug Design Inc - 6 x 6 paper pad - Boys Only

 

All done :) with a few crinkled pieces of paper due to be removed from the original card. 

So that's how I make a 'Clean & Simple' card, I hope you have learn at least what not to do from this tutorial. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How To’s & What Not’s Vegetable picks

Welcome to our next installment of How To’s & What Not’s.
Each week one of our DT Members creates a post with a how totutorial or a what not tip.

This week our project is by Jay Jay.

If you have a garden/balcony and/or love plants you might like this one :)
I made some vegetables picks with the ByDIEzyne Pierced Tickets Dies.

You need the Pierced Tickets Dies, C.C. Cutters Doodledoo Uppercase Die,
C.C. Cutters Pumpkins Die and some wooden spits.

Cut out some tickets. I used two for one pick and adhered their backs together.



Now take your alphabet or vegetable dies and decorate your signs. I love the ones with the vegetables! I used the retired C.C. Cutters Strawberry Die for the strawberry and the tomatoes.



If you use the picks outside in the garden you should make them waterproof. I laminated my signs (if you laminate you should only use one layer for the signs!). After that I added some holes to pick through the wooden spits.
("Erbsen" are peas in German!)

These picks are also nice to use if you are giving away
home grown vegetable plants or flowers!

Little Cloudy Pop Up

 

Hi Everyone :)

It's Faye here today.

A few weeks ago, I made a little pop up card with Swiss Pixie Ready for Rain and a By DIEzynes Half Oval Die. A few people asked me how I did it, so, I thought I'd do a quick tutorial.

 

 

Take your card blank, and line up the die on the centre fold. The edge of the die needs to be just over the edge of the fold.

 

 

As the back of the card blank will now be fairly weak, we need to strenghten it, by creating a little stand for the card.

 

 

Score a line at the halfway point on the front and back of the card blank.

 

 

Tuck the back of the card blank into the fold in the centre of the front of the card blank.

 

 

The back of the card looks like this.

 

 

And we have a little pop up card blank ready for a project.

 

 

I thought I'd finish it off with Swiss Pixie Little Cloudy. She's soooooo cute!
