Hello! Hope you enjoyed the February release previews and were able to get your hands on some of the cute stamps that are now available. Today, it is my turn to share something and since Valentine's Day is just days away, I thought I'd think of something for my youngest one's kindergarten class. I think making something for little kids can be tricky. I like to make things that are quick and inexpensive but still cute that the kids will enjoy receiving.
This is what I came up with. I wanted the treats to resemble little wrapped candies. But there actually isn't any candy in there. Hope the children won't be too disappointed.
Here are some of the supplies I used. With my really versatile CC Cutters Cube Box die, I cut out 20 boxes using some inexpensive, thin cardstock so I was able to cut 2 at a time. I also found inexpensive packages of tissue paper in Valentine's Day colors. Each package was only 97 cents and there would be lots of leftovers for other projects. I also used CC Cutters Big Hearts die, a sentiment from AmyR's Adoring You, glue to assemble the boxes, and some yarn to tie the ends.
Here are my 20 white boxes and my sample. Just wrap each box with some tissue paper that is a bit longer on both ends and tie the ends with yarn. So fast and simple. Any small treat would fit nicely in here but I don't like to pass out too much candy.
Instead, we decided to pass out bracelets. If you have kids, I'm sure you have some of these tiny rubber bands scattered all over your living room floor. My oldest one made 20 bracelets really quick using the Rainbow Loom. We thought school colors would appeal to both boys and girls.
Twenty candy shaped boxes wrapped in tissue and tied with yarn all ready to be passed out on Valentine's Day.
Hope you enjoyed today's Make It Monday! Thanks so much for stopping by!
