Hi there, it's Simone again. I hope the summer is back at your places, too. Here in Germany we've been enjoying a wonderful sunny weekend so I came up with the idea to show you some sweet melon ideas. Eating melons reminds me on my holidays in Italy where we ate tons of them... sweet, juicy, yummi =) So what about creating your own melons? They will match perfectly the new CC Design Stamps of the July-Release.
Even if you don't have a melon die cut, you can make your own melon slices pretty easy. All you need is two different matching circle dies, a scallop circle punch (a die works too), "CC Design Curly Q Border Die", black, green and red cardstock (I used Bazzill), liquid glue.
This is how you have to cut your paper:
Start with the larger circle die and cut a bit more than a half circle out of the green cardstock. Then use the smaller circle and cut like a little halfmoon out of the green circle. Use some sticky tape to fix the die so it won't move while cutting. Then take the red cardstock and cut it also with the large circle die. Glue the green part on the red using liquid glue.
To make you melon slice looks "real" you need some seeds too. I like to use the "CC Design Curly Q Border Die" because the tiny parts, which falls apart, they look like seeds (or raindrops too!)- great, isn't it? Glue the seeds on your melon slice and cut it into size. Use a scalloped cirlce punch (or die) for the bite.
Here are some card ideas using a melon slice and the new July-Stamps from CC Designs: I love the new Sentiments from Amy R: "Sweet Summer Sentiments".
Using Amy R's "Sweet Summer Sentiments" again and sweet "Swiss Pixie Watermelon Abigail".
I hope you like my idea - and you will have a lot of fun trying it! Have a sweet sunny day!
Thanks a "melon" to stop by and have a look at CC Design Rubberstamp Store- the July-Release is out now!
Hugs, Simone
