Hi everyone, Francine here!
Today, I’ll show you how to do an apron card. This is not my idea. I saw many examples on Internet and my lovely teamie Simone did also a tutorial 2 years ago. But I made my own template, a little bit different, that I want to share with you today. So let’s start!
You will need…
- Apron template that you can print and cut out
- C. C. Designs Meoples Hangers
- C.C. Designs Woodland Logos
- Cardstock (white and kraft)
- Design paper (I used fabric)
- 4 Brads
- Ribbon
- Lace
- Double adhesive tape and/or Scor-tape (to glue the layers to the apron base)
- Sewing machine
- Embellishments (flower, leaves, adhesive pearls,…)
- Usual craft supplies (3D foam pads, Copic markers, scissors, ink pads, liquid glue,…)
1. First, print the templates and cut out the different parts from your copy.
(Click on the image to open the file)
2. Then fold in half a piece of kraft cardstock you’ll use for the base of the card. Use the "Base" template and draw around to make the apron shape. The dotted line must be lined up with the fold.
3. Cut out the shape like shown on the image:
4. Do the same with the next two layers (without folding the paper in half). I used white cardstock for the template "Layer 1" and design paper / fabric for the template "Layer 2". Glue and sew Layer 1 to Layer 2 together. Do the same with the pocket templates. Next, cut 3 pieces of ribbon. Glue and fix it to the layers with double adhesive tape and brads, like this:
5. Color the Meople head and the Woodland Logos with your Copic markers. Choose embellishments and glue the different pieces together. I used Scor-tape for the apron layer and liquid glue for the pocket.
6. This is my finished apron card…
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.
Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!
